As someone who has 100%’d Stardew Valley and maxed out their Duolingo streak, this app is like it was made for my brain. The loop of setting sail for the month, trying to keep my ship intact, and then coming back to pour my leftover “treasure” into my cove is incredibly satisfying. Unlocking the Viking longship after three solid months of budgeting felt like a real achievement.
The AI mishaps are clever. A surprise subscription fee showed up as “Barnacles” slowing me down until I canceled it—genius! My main reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I’m hungry for more. I want more ship customization options, more crew members with different perks, and maybe even little mini-games to earn a tiny bit of extra “gold.”
But don’t get me wrong, this app works. I’ve tried every budgeting app out there. Mint, YNAB, you name it. They all made me feel so guilty and stressed that I’d just stop opening them after a few weeks. Then I found Cove.
